My Story
We spend so much time at work — it should not be this miserable…
How many of us have felt this way about our job? I certainly have, and it was the biggest wake-up call of my professional career. A toxic workplace culture had completely drained me of my energy and ability; night after night, I’d return home in tears, struggling to make sense of how work could cause so much stress. Disillusioned and depressed, I sought out answers.
As it turns out, I’m not the only one who believes the way we work clearly isn’t working. I was shocked to discover there was, in fact, an entire field dedicated to tackling just that: solving organizational challenges around people in the workplace. My fascination hasn’t stopped since, and led me to quickly pivot my career into one committed to improving the everyday lives of employees. I’m ridiculously passionate about the subject because of my personal experience, but I’m propelled to act by the data, both qualitative and quantitative, that demonstrate the real need and value for it.
We spend so much time at work — it should not be this miserable... ➳ We spend a third (!) of our lives at work — it can, and should, be meaningful.
